Waffle Gradients
2020 - Current
An ongoing series exploring three-dimensional textiles that stimulate a natural habitat within interior environments.
Using color as a communicator, each piece becomes a sensory experience as relief waffle patterns rise and fall in a gradient fiber landscape; a window that provides a vista of meditation where humanity can dive deeper into the collectively undiscovered self.
All work is made using AVL Dobby Looms
Oneiric: Initiation
Oneiric: Initiation is the first volume in Anya Molyviatis’s ongoing three-part Oneiric series.
A large-format, lay-flat art book, it opens the space between dreaming and waking. Twelve three-dimensional works, woven on a forty-harness dobby loom from thousands of hand-dyed cotton warp threads and mohair weft, are held here as dualities: not oppositions to be resolved, but states that exist at once.
Nothing has a fixed direction. You’re invited to rotate the book.
Surrounding the works are original texts, installation photographs tracing their movement from the studio to the Dallas Art Fair, and reflections on material, frame, and the foundational dye systems behind the color. Together, they reveal how color, structure, and movement become a shared language across the series.
